The diamond tendering process remains largely fragmented and opaque, relying on manual systems, physical interactions, and limited visibility for both sellers and buyers. This creates barriers to participation, inefficiencies in bidding, and a lack of trust in pricing transparency.
Koin aims to bridge this gap by creating a secure, digital-first platform that connects diamond producers and buyers through transparent and accessible online tenders.

Challenge :
One of the biggest challenges during the project was designing for a highly specialized industry with users who have varying levels of digital literacy. The platform needed to feel robust and trustworthy for expert traders while remaining approachable and easy to use for users transitioning from traditional, offline tendering methods. Striking this balance required careful prioritization of information hierarchy and interaction simplicity.
Summary :
This project shows how a thoughtful UX approach can make a complex, industry-specific process feel more approachable. By focusing on simplicity, trust, and usability, the final design helps modernise the diamond tender experience without losing its professional credibility.
